Johanna Lasonen, Edward Fletcher, Bill Blank, and Victor Hernandez
Our CWE@USF faculty are part of an interdisciplinary team featuring diverse backgrounds and research interests.

Dr. Johanna Lasonen, brings to the program a wealth of international experience and particular expertise in European models for career and workforce education. In addition, she is interested in multicultural aspects mediating education and work connections, and workplace learning.

In turn, Dr. Edward Fletcher comes with a teaching background in business education and a fresh outlook on research related to teaching preparation, instructional strategies in career and technical education, and tracking studies to determine impact of program participation.

Dr. Bill Blank is Professor Emeritus in Career and Workforce Education. With a background in engineering, teaching industrial arts, and research interests in curriculum integration, contextual teaching and learning strategies, and development of occupational profiles; he has has enjoyed a longstanding career at USF.

Dr. Victor Hernandez' background stems from agricultural research and extension work, educational research and evaluation, and interests related to emerging designs for career and technical education with particular focus on technician preparation in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) related fields.

The common denominator shared by our faculty is the commitment to advance our understanding of the complex connections among education, work, and the economy brought about by changes in the nature of contemporary work and global competition.
