Dr. Eddie Fletcher received the Outstanding Beginning Scholar Award in 2012 in recognition for significant scholarly contributions to career and technical education research and practice. This award is provided for faculty within their first five years of service and was presented by the Association for Career and Technical Education Research (ACTER) at the annual meeting held on November 27th in Atlanta, GA.
The Association for Career and Technical Education Research (ACTER) (formerly AVERA) was organized in 1966. It is a professional association for scholars and others with research interests in the relationship between education and work. Through participation in the ACTER members have the opportunity to collaborate on research projects of vital interest to the profession, present research findings to national audiences, and receive recognition for service and scholarship in career and technical education.
Dr. Fletcher is Assistant Professor in the Department of Adult, Career and Higher Education at USF. He also serves as Coordinator of the Master of Career and Technical Education program. Upon joining the Career and Workforce Education program, he has continued to work on a research agenda focusing on the influence of high school curriculum tracking on labor market and postsecondary outcomes in adulthood and his contributions to the field are being noticed. Kudos!
